Hallo Amsterdam: "
We’re in Amsterdam and we’ve had about ten minutes of sunshine since we arrived a couple of days ago. At least that’s how it seems. The photo above was taken during one of those ‘Look, blue sky — quick, take a photo!’ moments. Still, even in the cold dampness, Amsterdam is a beautiful and friendly city. The canals are so charming and picturesque that it is hard for me not to take photos of each one we come upon.
On the downside, we’re experiencing a bit of sticker-shock here, especially when it comes to eating out. 20+ Euros for a curry seems really pricy compared to other big cities we’ve recently visited like Berlin, where we paid less than half that amount at the poshest Indian place we found.
Our arrival in Amsterdam is a noteworthy milestone for us. This is the last new region we’ll be exploring on our trip. Our final two stops will be brief stays in Paris and London before flying home. Lots to see and do and we’re excited to be here. More to come…
