Top 5 of the Most Rockin’ Beaches to Party on for 2010: "

The water breaks on the coastline and the sun’s just about to set. For most beaches, this marks a quiet night with maybe a few bonfires, a group of friends drinking beer from a cooler, and couples stargazing. For these, beaches, however, the party has just begun. If you want to spend your summer at the beach but you’re not quite ready to leave the parties of the city, then these destinations were made for you.

With these beaches, you’ll be partying way into sunrise and probably sleeping all day. They also draw the best crowds from all over the globe, and there’s always an event going on no matter what day of the week it is, especially if you go there during the peak seasons.

Boracay in the Philippines

There are a lot of pristine beaches in Southeast Asia, but the one that’s caught the attention of party goers all over the world is Boracay, Philippines. A plane ride from the main city, Manila, and a busride and a boat ride from Kalibo Aklan, this beach boasts of very fine powdery white sand and clear, calm waters on the side of Balabag. Some people even say that the sand here is finer than the ones in Bali.

However, what attract droves of tourists here from March through April are the parties. The entire beach stip of Balabag just seem to be teeming with them. Boracay has three stations, and you’ll see these bars lining Station 2 and 3. Station 1 has four- to five-star lodges and classy buffet restaurants you can take your date to.

You can choose from bars which play reggae, live acoustic music, house music, or quieter places which let you enjoy the sea in Zen. For the best reggae parties, go to Cocomangas. The beer, the company and the music is all good in that side of the island.

Do you feel like surfing the next day? You can just take a tricycle to the other side and catch the swells, or maybe rent a buggy to explore the whole island by land on your own. Most people like to rent paraws, though, which are quaint little native sailboats driven by the Red Pirates. Grab a beer and drink while you sail the day away.

Zanzibar in Tanzania

Somewhere in Africa, there’s an island that used to be the trading point for spices. The Spice Island, now more aptly called Zanzibar, is very different now. It’s a peaceful paradise that has a lot of character. Instead of an overwhelming crowd of tourists baking under the sun, you’ll see local fishers sailing in its turquoise-colored waters.

The island is especially beautiful during the low season. If you’re looking for a break from all that calmness, though, you can always go to the diving resort at the island’s northern coast. Every full moon, they hold parties here with Zanzibari BBQ buffet which is just to die for. You’ll also be entertained by the performance of African Acrobats.

Be awed, too, at the set up with hammocks and rustic furniture as decors. They’ll be playing international music all night long, too.

Ibiza in Spain

On the other side of the world is Europe’s beach party capital. Ibiza, Spain offers you only the funkiest, rowdiest parties. You’re probably not going to remember half of it when you wake up in the morning, but the bits you will remember will drive you mad. This feels like Las Vegas surrounded by water, only a bit more exotic because you’re in Spain and Spain is just inherently sexy.

For so many years now, Ibiza has topped the list when it comes to crazy beach parties. Who goes here? Why, British partygoers on vacation, of course, looking for some good music and booze to warm the soul. The crowd is interesting, though, because while this is a Spanish island, almost everyone is Brit. Even the crew of waiters and waitresses here, travelers tell us, are almost all British.

It looks like Ibiza seduced these folks and they were never able to find their way back to cold, wet England. Some people complain, though, that this influx of foreigners stripped Ibiza of its local color. No matter, with turquoise bays and gorgeous rock formations on the cliff, no one can really say they’ve had a bad time in Spain.

If you’re looking for a hip place to stay, go for lodgings in San Antonio. For parties, Café del Mar is the place to go.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil

If the words sassy and sexy just make your heart beat faster, then the beach parties at Rio de Janeiro are the ones you should go to. Imagine bikini-clad ladies in perfect form, and beach parties that just seem to be of a class of their own. The parties here are hot without losing their sophistication.

Along the strip of Rio de Janeiro, you’ll hear anything from dance music to smooth samba. There are also baixos where bars, restaurants and cafes just seem to meld with one another. No matter what type of traveler you may be, you’re sure to find something that would make you happy in the beach strip of the Rio.

The place is especially packed during New Year’s Eve, thanks to Copacabana. Get ready to watch the best fireworks from the beach with a whole lot of other people if you find yourself in this particular beach party.

Koh Phangan in Thailand

For a beach that’s shaped just like the crescent moon, it’s only natural that Haad Rin holds the famous Full Moon Party every month. Here, beachcombers from all over the world flock to enjoy cheap alcoholic drinks, wild, thumping music and a party that lasts till sunrise.

Not sure if the music you’re hearing in the background is your genre of choice? No problem. Just walk down the whole strip and you’re bound to find a bar that’s bound to suit your taste. While you’re walking, look around. Aside from the good looking beach partygoers, there are also interesting entertainers including fire eaters and jugglers.

The only problem is that these parties can leave quite a huge mess in the morning. Sometimes, the parties attract up to 20,000 people, which makes for a crowded beach. That’s why you shouldn’t let your guard down or else you might fall prey to a pickpocket or get caught in a brawl.
