Quick update: "
Linda, Elise and I were planning to go to Oman today, which is only 120 km from Dubai, but yesterday while replacing my toolbox that went wondering between Japan and Dubai, and replacing 2 wheels on the car, I decided to overtake a parked truck and managed to get things horribly wrong. Basically I drove straight into the back of the beast, smashing our side window of the modified “house” and ripping two huge holes though the fiberglass. Our first accident on the whole expedition, I was gutted. Although the problem is fixable it is the unnecessary expense of now fixing a window, getting a new frame etc and the irritation of delaying our arrival in Oman at the already ending turtle nesting season. So we have to navigate our lug of a vehicle back to the side streets of Sharja and get things fixed, what a bummer. I spent the afternoon fiberglassing, gell coating the hole and at least that is now repaired, no more gaping holes at least, well lets hope we get everything done today, that would be nice.
